This is the first hydration pack I ve purchased since my 15 year old Camelbak mule. In comparison, the pack itself is only about 50g lighter than than the mule which holds 3L, and has much more storage . It also has no insulation for the bladder so expect to drink hot water after about 30 minutes. The pocket is very small, too small to even fit a cell phone, however you can fit more stuff inside the main bladder storage area. I do like the magnetic clip that keeps the mouthpiece against your chest. I don t think a chest strap is particularly useful in biking, a waist strap makes more sense because when the back moves it is typically from the bottom when going over bumps jumps. I also like how the reservoir opens up fully for easy cleaning. I don t think I d buy this again, because a it isn t that lightweight in comparison to packs that hold more fluid. And b the lack of bladder insulation makes my 15 year old camelbak way more useful. In 90 degree weather do I want up to 3L of ice cold water or 1.5L of hot water And my back doesn t really seem to notice that the Osprey one is supposedly more breathable. I d say spend your money on a pack with better storage insulation as this one is certainly not saving any significant weight.
